Frequently asked questions

Which PTZ cameras are compatible with the Autoscript PTZ Prompter?

The system supports a wide range of PTZ cameras, including models with wide-angle lenses. It has been tested with the Sony FR7 and Canon N700, among others. The Sony FR7 has been tested for auto-calibration with the FE PZ 28-135mm F4 G OSS lens.

Can the camera be calibrated without removing it from the hood?

Yes. The design allows for in-hood calibration with the glass mounted—ideal for cameras like the Sony FR7 that auto-calibrate on power-up.

How is the PTZ prompter mounted?

It features integrated VESA mounting points (100×100 and 100×200) on the top and rear, as well as 3/8” fixings on the base for studio camera supports.

How is the PTZ mounted?

An internal cradle within the hood supports inverted PTZ camera mounting using a standard camera plate (included with the prompter). The mounting system allows for continuous vertical and horizontal adjustment within the hood for optimal positioning of the lens.

Can I use my existing Autoscript monitor with this system?

Yes. The hood is compatible with both EVO-IP and EPIC-IP monitors (requires appropriate camera support).

Is the PTZ prompter available without a monitor?

Yes. The hood and mounting system [A9012-0002] can be purchased separately and configured with a monitor, backplate and glass to create a bespoke system.
